One of the first tasks that should ever be carried out on any security appliance is to change the default password. This KB will explain how you can do this on any of the Sonicwall range of firewalls.
1 - Connect to the Sonicwall as you normally do (using the default 192.168.168.168 or whatever LAN IP you have assigned to the Sonicwall) through a web browser.
2 - Log in using the default username 'admin' and default password 'password'
3 - Click on 'General' on the left column
4 - Click the 'Password' tab on the far right
5 - Enter your old and new passwords and click 'Update' at the bottom.
You have now successfully changed the administrator password on your Sonicwall.
There will shortly be a firmware release which also allows you to change the username as well as the password, but at this moment in time 'admin' is the only username that can be used.
