Sophos is one of the largest independent anti-virus vendors in the world and the largest based in Europe. Sophos is focused exclusively on the corporate market place where its core products protect company desktops, servers and e-mail gateways from the threat of viruses. Sophos Anti-Virus (SAV): This provides top class network protection on desktops and servers across multiple platforms. It offers on-demand, scheduled and on-access scanning, and provides protection across multiple platforms, in one single, fully integrated product. The software has network functionality at its core, and incorporates a range of reporting and management tools to help network administrators. It can be installed and updated centrally from one machine across an entire multi-platform, multi-server network. Updating it across the network is straightforward: once the server has been updated, all desktops and laptops automatically updated as soon as they log on, with end users not having to, and indeed not able to, interfere.
